One Year Anniversary-Modern Renaissance Marketing
I am excited to announce that today (April 21st, 2016) marks our One Year Anniversary for Modern Renaissance Marketing. I would like to share with you some experiences from the last year of owning a marketing business.
In 1886 Coca Colas the first year of business John Pemberton only sold 25 gallons of syrup, which only made him $50 that year. The reason I am telling you this is because not all dreams come true right away, and certainly not overnight. The dream of being an entrepreneur is one that takes a long time to fulfill, but given the time and effort, it is one that can reap tremendous rewards. I recently spoke to someone about being an entrepreneur and starting your own business and we discussed the delusion a lot of people have about going into business for yourself.
Starting your own business is not a get rich quick method; it is not a way to free up more time, and it certainly isn’t as glamorous as it seems! Starting your own business is Sacrifice, Late nights, and skipped meals. I am a proud father to an amazing 7-year-old girl who means more to me than anything else in my life and I understand that it is my role as her father to provide her guidance to make it through this world. Much like raising a child, my business requires the same kind of focus and guidance. I must stay educated for my business, I must keep taking risks and overcoming challenges, and most importantly I must keep growing.
In the last year, I have met and worked with people all over the world, I’ve had the chance to learn from the brightest minds, I’ve been mentored, I’ve mentored; I’ve had huge successes and instant failures!
But I am excited to be here still going strong after 1 year.
The bottom line is this, few people truly go after a dream whether it’s opening a business, playing a sport professionally, or selling out a stadium as a musician. So the first step is to take the leap, and then don’t stop until you find what you are looking for!
50% of all new businesses fail in the first year, I want to leave you with a few quotes that allowed me to be the other 50% that continues to chase my dream!
“Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success.”- Henry Ford
“I’m actually as proud of the things we haven’t done as the things I have done. Innovation is saying no to 1,000 things.”- Steve Jobs
“Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value.”- Albert Einstein
“Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.”- Albert Schweitzer
We look forward to many more years of serving you,
Thank you for Joining the Modern Renaissance!
